Sweet, Sweet Stephen

I KNOW....what a cutie!!!!!

Happy Birthday, Honey

An Extra Gift

Ok, before I even start, let me acknowledge that I am indeed aware that I am Caucasian and Darby is Asian.
With that being said, I would like to point out that there is a slight resemblance in head shape and facial shape.   Yes, I think my daughter looks like me.
In a class I took recently, I met a gal that was in a matching room in South Africa where she and others matched family profiles with babies for adoption.  When I found out, I had 20 questions for her.  I asked her how they decided what families went with what babies.  And she said that indeed they looked for physical similarities and also at what the child's personality was like compared to the parents' personality and lifestyle.  And she told me that a family's profile or child's profile would wait until she and her team found a match.  Even though this was a different country and not a governmental agency (as it is in China,) I was so excited to hear that!!

I have had many experiences where someone reminds me of someone of another race.  I think humans have basic traits that show up in all races.

I just see this as an extra gift from God.

A Boy Named Abby

This is my beautiful cat, Abby.
He had been with me for almost 13 years.
He died this past Monday, November 12th.
Abby has been our cat as long as we have been married.  I got him a month before we married and he was contraband in our married housing apartment on campus where Stephen was still a student at the time.  He was our first "child" and I miss him terribly.  Darby still frequently asks about Abby and we are already faced with teaching our baby about death.

Cutest Ladybug Ever!!

So here is my sweet little ladybug....I know....could she be any cuter!!  We all went trick-or-treating.  We got very little candy.  Darby got just a taste.

I'll just say it, we really just wanted to show off our baby.  There, I said it.  And I'm not ashamed;-)
